We have had a lot of fun around the yurt for the last couple of weeks. There has been lots of outside time and Nicki has had a lighter schedule so we have seen a lot of her. On a recent photo expedition I went tromping around off trail and found this amazing tree. Some time ago a bear had been through the area and had clawed it.
Leo has been blossoming quite a bit in the last few weeks in regards to his imagination. He has been telling us stories about him riding bears, visiting friends, putting out fires, and cooking food. Here is a picture of Leo off to fight a fire. His version of a fire hose is a silver colored belt.
Ever increasing sunshine is a constant source of joy at the yurt.
Miraculously, Nicki had a day off and I was able to ditch the boy so we headed out to Hatcher Pass for some back country skiing. The weather and snow were awesome and the lighting made for some fantastic photographs.
In fact I got so caught up with the picture taking that I wasn't watching where I was going. I tried to ski (skins on) and take pictures at the same time. This resulted in me falling off a cornice. Now, that might sound bad but it was only a 5 foot fall onto soft snow in a shallow gully. Lucky me I guess. The worst part about it is that my camera got caked with snow and I couldn't take any more pictures that day. Here a snow spotted picture of me looking back up from my fall to my rescue party.
And, for all of you who are experiencing warmer temperatures, Leo has a fashion tip for you.
